We Built It

We Build It is a fun, unifying experience. This team building activity offers strong outcomes focusing on language, feedback and the importance of creating a step-by-step project strategy. It’s also a great for emphasizing the idea that every member plays a vital role in a team’s overall success. Participants are split into small groups. Their goal: replicate a model using simple elements and do it within a limited time frame. Teams start by allocating specific roles, then develop their own communications strategies. These strategies hold the keys to victory because each team’s designated builder never gets to see the original model. All necessary information must be communicated down a chain of team members. Halfway through the event, team members switch up their roles.

The rules of this game have been optimized to highlight the essential principles for accurately conveying information. These same principles can improve communications with your customers, or between different teams or departments within a company. We wrap it all up with a short debrief session, where participants are encouraged to share their experiences and conclusions.
